Welcome!  I am Katy Vega, N.D., founder of Life Streams Eternal.  I am first, a daughter of our living God,, and second, the wife of Jim Vega.  We have been married for almost 27 years and have been blessed with 11 beautiful children; one who is already with our Lord.  Being the mother of many, I have been given a vast array of experiences which have helped me grow in the ministry of healing.  I've had various birth experiences including C-sections, VBACs, home births and hospital births.  After the birth of our 1st baby I knew I didn't want to rely on the standard medical model of care, so I sought out the expertise of a local homeopathic M.D.  I thank God for that man as he taught me a lot about the body and how it usually heals itself when given the right encouragement. After the birth of our 3rd baby, I trained as a Bradley Natural Childbirth Educator and began teaching right away.  I became an avid reader in the world of natural childbirth, home-birth, and other various modalities of natural healing. My first teachers were: our family M.D. of homeopathy, midwives, herbalists, books by old-world naturopaths and my own experiences caring for my own children.  In between the births and raising of my family, I taught childbirth classes and attended births when I could.  God has shown me many natural remedies as alternatives to pharmaceuticals whenever one of our children has been sick.  We have been known to use the local hospital from time to time for a broken bone or two and we're thankful for skilled M.D.s expertise are necessary.  Knowing that my child-bearing season would come to and end, I began preparing for the next season of life by studying Traditional Naturopathy with the Clayton College of Natural Health.

As a traditional naturopathy, I presently provide private consultations in Traditional Naturopathy, TKM® (www,kinginstitute.org) sessions and nutritional counseling.  In addition, I provide services as a doula/birth assistant, and instruction in natural childbirth, naturopathy, herbology, and nutrition.  I have recently begun studying traditional midwifery and working as a student midwife with Birth By Design (www.birthbydesign.org), a local licensed Certified Professional Midwifery practice.  Check out my "services" page and find the classes right for you.

I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University, in Virginia.
I also hold a doctorate in Traditional Naturopathy from the Clayton College of Natural Health, in Alabama.  My education currently includes traditional midwifery, and various certification processes are continuous.
